Gyrotonic®
Gyrotonic is an exercise system that stretches the body and promotes a healthy range of motion, thereby increasing the functional capacity of the body.
Gyrotonic:
- increases one's range of motion
- stimulates and strengthens the nervous system to increase the muscles ability to release tension and lengthen thereby promoting a sense of well-being
- mobilizes the spine and releases tension in the spine thereby improving the function of the spine
- creates better coordination through neuromuscular regeneration thereby improving reflexes, strength and clarity of mind
- improves the immune system
Through Gyrotonic exercise, you will stretch and strengthen your muscles to balance, creating a flow of energy, peace and harmony in the body. Free yourself of restriction and inhibition and create a body free of pain.
Note from Owner: My training in pilates, yoga, strength training, exercise physiology (focus cardiovascular endurance), dance, my pursuit of physical therapy education, my experience as a mother, as well as countless hours and days studying pre and postnatal exercise and countless hours talking with and studying with prenatal and postnatal experts such as Julie Tupler, Vicki Hedley, child care providers, Physical Therapists and OB/GYN's.
I had attained the knowledge and confidence necessary to work with prenatal and postnatal exercise (whew). Through my experience I realized there was a need for stretching the back muscles which tend to ache. Therefore I trained in Gyrotonic and am convinced it is a useful means of stretching through continuous movement which is guided by equipment. Now I have found a balance to pilates, yoga and strength training and am excited to bring this to Bella Bellies.
